Roberts Family Development Center has grown tremendously in the past 20 years and with growth comes more opportunity to serve the community
Our Golden Ticket Fundraiser, is to raise funds for a new building renovation to create a more conducive and functional space for community-oriented activities.

This effort aligns with our commitment in providing vital services and programs to the children and families within North Sacramento and surrounding communities, ensuring we can better support and uplift individuals and families in need.

In keeping with our Mission for 23 years, to support our children in local school districts, RFDC would like to introduce our first annual Trip to Africa for 2 to South Africa. This trip will highlight the contributions of two giants in humanity, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.

This past weekend was the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington DC led by Dr martin Luther King Jr and others.

Dr. King was inspired by Mahatma Gandhi & Nelson Mandela. However, King learned about Gandhi through his writings and a trip to India in 1959. He drew heavily on the Gandhian idea of nonviolence in his own activism. King wrote that Gandhi was a “guiding light” for him. “Nonviolence” is more than simply agreeing that you won’t physically attack your enemy.

This trip will allow us to visit these iconic landmarks in South Africa, so that we may plan future School Field Trips to inspire our youth to pursue their dreams in whatever career path they may choose in Education. All of of proceeds will support our youth services.

Freedom School has had a huge impact here in our local School Districts and served the largest number of scholars in Freedom School nationally. More than 19,000 students are served nationally through the CDF freedom schools and 520 were served by our Center.
